Meli Kastanitsas, our story
Meli Kastanitsas begins around 1950 when Andreas Lambrou and his wife Angeliki, who were mainly engaged in agriculture, acquired their first beehives in hives from the then elderly grandfather George, Andreas Lambrou’s father. Gradually and with many efforts they began to learn and enter the spirit of beekeeping. Initially they produced honey only for their family’s needs. Afterwards, Andreas started intensively dealing with beekeeping. The little knowledge his father had and a couple of books that existed at the time were the only supplies he had. But the stubbornness to succeed was great.
